Yesterday morning Chris from DADAA, Bianca from Streeties and I went to Gunnado Farm, located around 30 minutes away from Geraldton. As the chosen location for our youth workshop on Saturday, we wanted to explore the areas that could be used for various aspects of the workshop.

Having done a workshop in the city, we wanted to move to a more regional location. Gunnado Farm has cultural and family significance to many young people from Streetwork Aboriginal Corporation and so it would be a rich site for creating narratives works.

To our surprise the main house contained a gallery space and large balcony, which could be used for an initial tutorial we had planned, as well as for the projection of images. Outdoors we found a beautiful space surrounded by trees and a fantastic vista of the landscape.

Later we made our way up to the look out points – one of which was aptly named Kangaroo Point. This would prove to be an ideal backdrop for the video diaries (one of the activities planned for the Saturday workshop).
